Keep the Midlands Beautiful, Sonoco Recycling, and DHEC's Office of Solid Waste Reduction and Recycling established Green Steps Schools in 2003 as part of South Carolina's "Resource Conservation Challenge." This environmental education initiative encourages individual schools to take annual steps toward becoming more environmentally responsible. read more
GREEN was on a field trip to see Tutankhamun: Return of the King exhibit at the State Museum in Columbia. It was an awesome experience for the students, as well as a great way for them to gain some authentic experiences; helping to develop their schema.
Ms. Renninger's Rock Stars rocked out their opening day in Ms. Renninger's Readers Café. Students got to share their Fractured Fairy Tales in the spotlight and drink some hot chocolate as they listened to the creative stories. Since opening day was such a success, we look forward to many more days presenting in the Reader's Café in the near future!

GREEN AR Program kicks off !
Accelerated Reader is a computerized reading management program that helps teachers manage and monitor children's independent reading practice. It is a unique system for motivating children to read and for tracking achievement.
We have started assessing students' reading by using the STAR Reading program.
