Greenville Renewable Energy Education Charter School. dba GREEN Charter Schools has one (1) opening available for the position of Charter School Math Teacher with the following qualifications:

Requires a Bachelor’s or foreign equivalent in Mathematics or Education with a specialization in Mathematics. Also requires 2 years of experience as a Charter School Math Teacher. Additionally, an Educator's Certificate in Mathematics for grades 6th - 12th is required per state law.

Job duties for the position include:

Teach mathematics to charter school students grades 6th through 12th through lectures, discussions, and demonstrations. Adapt teaching methods and instructional materials to meet students' varying needs and interests, using flexible grouping based on on-going assessment to confer with students and provide differentiated instruction. Select instructional practices, compelling topics, in-depth investigations, and detailed project plans to include plans for integrating interdisciplinary instruction as well as to promote character development in students. Utilize a variety of teaching methodologies, including lectures, class discussions, and structured study teams as well as innovative instructional methods. Plan after school activities, such as clubs and tutoring, as well as coach individual students and teams for participation in local, state, and national mathematics competitions. Prepare and administer tests and assignments to evaluate students' progress and to create assessment criteria that are consistent with charter schools and state standards. Maintain accurate, complete, and correct student records as required by law, district policies, administrative regulations, and the school's charter agreement. Design interdisciplinary learning experiences that fulfill the State of South Carolina's standards and are consistent with the school's charter agreement. Support students in the development of their work for presentations in regional, statewide, and national math competitions and tournaments. Confer with parents or guardians, other teachers, counselors, and administrators in order to resolve students' behavioral and academic problems or to discuss students' progress, and to determine students' priorities and needs.
